SR 0056 (151) South Bend Bridge, Armstrong County
Francis J. Palo, Inc. was awarded a contract with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation on December 28, 2000, on SR 56, South Bend Twp., Armstrong County. Palo, Inc. removed the existing three span bridge one side at a time and replaced it with a one-span prestressed concrete I-beam bridge with an overall length of 45.6 meters. Additionally, Palo Inc. installed new approaches, drainage improvements, and guide rail. The project started on March 1, 2001 and was completed on October 12, 2001.
